Wakefield, MA, October 7, 2019 – Picis Clinical Solutions, Inc. (Picis), a global provider of clinical information solutions, today announced that the company is marking 25 years of innovation, supplying software that automates the entire perioperative experience from preop to intraop and anesthesia through PACU. Since its inception, Picis has evolved to a comprehensive suite for managing the entire patient surgical journey with one contiguous record.
In 1994, Picis was founded to deliver an Anesthesia/Critical Care/PACU solution to help with the challenges during surgery in managing the anesthesia and recovery process. In the years that followed, it became clear there was an additional need in the surgical space for OR Management and Patient Tracking; ultimately, creating one contiguous patient record. The addition of SmarTrack and OR Manager completed Picis’ Total Perioperative Automation (TPA) solution, alleviating the complexities of disparate systems.
“Picis has consistently developed and provided perioperative solutions to our customers over the past 25 years. Throughout 2019, we have been reflecting on where we started, what we have achieved, and what our plans are for the future. As we embark on the next quarter century, the team at Picis will continue to anticipate the needs of our customers, develop solutions to improve the user experience and alleviate clinician burnout so they can focus on patient care,” said Marcus Perez, Executive Vice President.
Most recently, Picis has added complementary perioperative specific enhancements including automated Waveforms, ruled-based notifications for Sepsis Screening, and a web-based patient tracking mobile app – all solutions driven by talking to users about the burdens clinicians have to overcome daily. Development has been focused on intertwining technology and specific healthcare needs with tools that are more intuitive and interconnected.
“As the healthcare technology landscape continues to evolve, we are excited about the upcoming release of Picis 10, our most complete solution to date, and Orchestrator; a new solution designed specifically to coordinate surgical staff scheduling, tray and instrument tracking, tissue and implant tracking, as well as manage surgical assets.”
