Picis 10 is Here: How to Upgrade and Make the Transition

We have all been anticipating the newest version of Picis software, and we’re happy it’s here! Any customer who has ever upgraded with Picis knows that there is much more to it than just the software update, a very important part of the process is showing users any new functionality and how things may look different.

The good news for this version is that the functionality is very similar to past versions and users are acclimating very quickly. The most significant change with Picis 10 is the change to a more modern look and feel. With OR Manager there is a new icon called ORS. ORS is specifically a functionality for scheduling. The ORM icon holds the rest of OR Manager with additional features, including GTIN barcoding for implants and supplies.

The standard Picis upgrade process applies for Picis 10: submit a ticket to support and it will be routed to sales. The sales team will then communicate with the facility to find out when the upgrade process can be activated: weekends, after hours or during normal business hours. Additional questions about the upgrade will include: Are you changing SQL or Windows versions and are you looking to upgrade your servers? Do you need additional training?

When all the details are ironed out, the sales executive will send you a service order, if needed. Once the service order is signed, a project manager will initiate communications to start the upgrade process. The upgrade is delivered in a pseudo-live environment and tested. All team members will test the upgrade and when approved, it will be moved to the live environment.

This Picis upgrade has become very popular and we are currently in the process of upgrading several clients. Please make sure to get your service ticket in soon if you are planning to upgrade in 2022. Resources are booked up for several months out and we want you to be the next in line to upgrade to the anticipated Picis 10.
