ED PulseCheck: 100% ARRA Compliant for a High-Performance ED
Picis leadership in and commitment to meeting customers’ compliance needs.
With Release 5.0, Picis ED PulseCheck® is the first emergency department information system (EDIS) to be 100% ARRA compliant. This milestone is the result of Picis’ continuing commitment to lead the industry in meeting hospitals’ needs regarding meaningful use and other compliance aspects.

By providing an integrated and comprehensive electronic health record (EHR) for the ED, Picis delivers a wealth of information to assist clinicians in making decisions, and to aid hospitals in improving operations, reducing costs, increasing efficiency and providing better care — all goals of the ARRA stimulus package.
ED PulseCheck provides hospitals with the ability to send data to a Health Information Exchange (HIE), employing interoperability implemented by the “Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE)” process, which is the defacto interoperability standard specified by the HIE Work Group. The Continuity of Care Document (CCD) format is used.
HIE allows a hospital to maintain and connect existing disparate applications both within and outside the hospital, including specialty systems which meet unique departmental workflow needs, rather than replace current systems.
Some hospitals may use HIE support to improve interoperability between hospital department information systems rather than traditional “point-to-point” interfaces.
