Picis Adds Customers Across All Product Lines in 2006

Picis to exhibit high-acuity software at HIMSS tradeshow

New Orleans, La. February 26, 2007 —  Picis, Inc., a provider of high-acuity care information systems and best practices solutions for hospitals, today announced a summary of contract signings for 2006. Picis is scheduled to exhibit its entire CareSuite™ product line for emergency departments, operating rooms and intensive care units at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) 2007 Annual Conference in New Orleans (Picis booth #6036), February 26-March 1.

2006 Highlights

  • Global Customers—Picis completed 2006 with a number of global contract wins for its high-acuity information solutions. Picis signed an agreement to deliver its operating room management system to six London trusts, comprised of 12 hospitals, as part of England 's expansive program to computerize all of its hospitals. Additional international customer highlights include additions or expansions in hospitals in Austria, Norway, Germany and Portugal.
  • Customers Implementing the Full Picis High-Acuity Suite—Several Picis customers have selected Picis' entire high-acuity suite, to automate emergency departments, operating rooms and intensive care units. Customers implementing CareSuite solutions across all three environments include: The Reading Hospital and Medical Center in Reading, Pa.; Sun Health in Phoenix, Ariz.; and Dameron Hospital in Stockton, Calif. The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and University Medical Center in Tucson, Ariz. added Picis perioperative solutions to their existing critical care installations. Lancaster General Hospital, Boston Medical Center and Novant Health System all added anesthesia and post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) automation to their existing operating room management systems from Picis.
  • Total Perioperative Automation—Picis' Total Perioperative Automation™ (TPA) system was selected by hospitals to provide a seamless continuum of patient information and reporting between preoperative care, surgery, anesthesia and post-operative care. For example, Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, New Mexico purchased Picis' TPA solution for multiple facilities to replace its legacy operating room management system and to interface to the hospital's McKesson information system. In all, more than 35 health systems representing over 80 hospitals signed with Picis. These include Sutter Health affiliates, ProHealth Care, Tampa General Hospital, University of Rochester Medical Center, Providence Holy Cross and Providence Saint Joseph Medical Centers, Kettering Adventist Healthcare (Dayton, Ohio), Fairview Health Services and Saskatchewan Health.
  • Picis ICU solution—CareSuite Critical Care Manager provides automated documentation and device connectivity directly at the point of care, helping hospitals around the world improve quality and patient outcomes, while reducing costs. Erasmus Medical Center in The Netherlands, Novant Health and Valley Baptist Health Systems have all selected Picis technology to automate data collection and analysis in the ICU process including such specialty care areas as neonatal and pediatric ICUs.
