Health & Welfare Benefits

Medical - Vision - Dental - Life - Disability - Reimbursement Accounts


At Picis, Inc. we're committed to offering comprehensive benefits, competitive pay, professional development, and a positive work environment. An integral part of this commitment is our comprehensive benefits program. Designed to meet the needs of a diverse workforce, this program lets you customize your benefits to meet your individual needs.

Eligibility: Benefit plan eligibility for almost all of our benefits begins on day one! Eligibility to participate in the 401(k) program and Flexible Spending Programs begins on the first of the month following one month of continuous employment. All employees who work at least 24 hours per week are eligible to participate.

Medical Insurance
Choosing a medical plan for yourself and your family is a personal decision based on your specific needs. This is why Picis, Inc. provides a choice of different medical plans. These plans offer comprehensive health care services with varying levels of benefits. You can select the plan that best meets the needs of you and your family.

All medical plans provide prescription drug benefits, and promote wellness as part of their benefits. The main differences between these plans are the deductibles, co-payments, co-insurance amounts, out-of-pocket maximums, health care delivery systems, and plan costs.

Medical plans are available through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts:

Employees living in New England

  • HMO Blue New England Deductible Plan
  • HMO Blue New England Enhanced Value

Employees living outside of New England

  • Preferred Blue PPO Deductible Plan
  • Blue Care Elect Enhanced Value PPO

Prescription Drugs
When you enroll in a medical plan, you will automatically receive prescription drug benefits. All medical plans offer the same prescription drug benefits through most of the major pharmacies. There is also a mail service pharmacy which allows you to receive a 90 day supply for each prescription.

Vision Care
To supplement the basic vision exam every 24 months which is included in the medical plans, employees have the ability to elect additional vision coverage through The Guardian VSP Network which provides a vision exam every 12 months and provides discounts on contacts and glasses.

Dental Insurance
Picis offers a dental plan that accommodates your personal family dental needs. The Dental coverage is provided by The Guardian.

Flexible Spending Accounts
Reimbursement Accounts are a great way to save by paying eligible health care and dependent care expenses with before-tax dollars. You can participate in two reimbursement accounts: the health care spending account and the dependent care spending account.

Life Insurance
Picis, Inc. is committed to ensuring that your family members are provided with financial security in the event of death. Our Basic Life with Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance is considered a core benefit and paid at 100% by the company. Because each of us has different insurance needs, you will also have the choice of purchasing additional life insurance for both you and your family members.

Disability Insurance
Our disability plans offer income replacement to provide financial protection for you and your family if you can't work over a temporary period of time because of illness, pregnancy, or injury. Picis, Inc. provides basic Short-Term disability coverage at no cost to you and voluntary Long-Term Disability coverage at reasonable rates.

401(k)

Regardless of your age, you probably have developed some long-term financial goals. 401(k) contributions allow you to plan for your financial security and build your savings for retirement. Here are some key features of our 401(k) plan:

  • Administrated by American Funds.
  • Ability to contribute from 1 to 100% of your eligible compensation on a pre-tax basis up to the IRS maximum.

Paid Time-Off Fitness – EAP

Picis, Inc. wants to help you meet the demands you face both on the job and at home. Our benefits are designed to help you balance work and life needs. We can help you stay healthy, have fun, plan for your future, take a break, and get help if you need it. Picis makes it possible through our paid time off and work/life programs.

Paid Time Off
Picis, Inc. recognizes that time away from work can provide valuable psychological and physical benefits. An earned time off program provides employees with flexibility to schedule and manage personal time off needs. All employees are encouraged to take vacation time each year. New employees begin accruing at a rate of 3 weeks per year. After 5 years of service, the accrual increases to a rate of 4 weeks per year. Picis provides 10 paid holidays.

Fitness
Fitness facilities are available to all employees in the Bellevue, Washington, Rosemont, Illinois and Wakefield Massachusetts location. There is a nominal fee for use of these facilities.

EAP
Balancing home and work is challenging. Guardian’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP), WorkLife Matters, is a confidential support service for members who need counseling on issues that impact their lives. This benefit is available to all employees.
