In the fall edition of the Healthcare I.T. Performance Report, which compared the performance of different vendors, Picis ranked first out of 18 specialty vendors and second best overall (out of 53 vendors). Picis also was the top vendor in several service areas including quality of implementation, interface services, personal job performance and timely release of software enhancements.
Picis CareSuite installation at Christiana Care Health System, Newark to become part of Smithsonian Institute's Permanent Research Collection
Bill Gates of Microsoft Corporation nominated the CareSuite installation at Christiana Care Health System for a 1999 Computerworld Smithsonian Award. As a result, the work will become part of the Permanent Research Collection on Information Technology at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History.Christiana Care was able to demonstrate improvements in the care and service provided to patients through its use of the Picis CareSuite clinical information system.

Judges for the Microsoft Healthcare Users Group (MS-HUG) and Microsoft Corp. selected Picis as a finalist for the annual MS-HUG annual awards in the acute care clinical info systems category. This award recognizes independent software vendors that develop solutions on Microsoft technology to address the diverse challenges faced by the healthcare industry. Picis demonstrated these benefits through the use of its operating room management system at Lexington Medical Center, which captured $775,000 in billable charges from October ‘03 to May ’04 that would have been lost without post-case audits performed by CareSuite OR Manager.
