Todd Cozzens Named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year in New England

Todd C. Cozzens, CEO and vice chairman of Wakefield-based Picis, Inc. was named winner of the 2005 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Award. Cozzens was recognized for having the vision to create Picis in 1994 and transform it from a start-up company into the worldwide market leader in perioperative, critical care and emergency department information systems. 


Marquette University Names Todd Cozzens Entrepreneur Of The Year

In April 2009, Todd C. Cozzens, CEO and vice chairman of Wakefield-based Picis, Inc., was named Entrepreneur Of The Year by Marquette University’s Alumni Association. This national award program honors distinguished alumni who represent the heart, soul and spirit of Marquette who are making a difference in the lives of others. A 1977 graduate, Cozzens was recognized for having founded Picis and helping it grow more than 1500% since 2001. 


Picis Wins HISsies in Six Categories at HIMSS

The 2009 HISsies, the brutally honest HIT awards voted by readers of HIStalk, a well-read industry blog, were announced at this year’s HIMSS convention. Picis and its clients dominated the awards, winning in the following acclaimed categories:

ED PulseCheck Client Receives Prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award

Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton (RWJ Hamilton), in Hamilton, NJ, has been singled out as the only hospital in the country to receive the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for 2004. The hospital was cited, among other areas, for achieving a 90 percent patient satisfaction rating in the emergency department (ED) during 2004. In addition, the hospital was one of the first in the nation to implement a "15/30" program, which promises that all patients in the ED would see a nurse within 15 minutes and a physician within 30 minutes.


Frost & Sullivan Specialty Care Product Line Strategy Award

Frost & Sullivan's analysis on Specialty Care Products, acknowledged Picis, Inc.'s exceptional ability to distinguish its CareSuite product line and enhance deliverable capabilities to meet the needs of clinicians.

Picis significantly enhanced its product offering by merging with Ibex, the leading provider of Emergency Department (ED) information systems, to leverage its current leadership in critical care and perioperative systems into a larger market opportunity.


Picis Number One in EDIS Physician Documentation

Versatility, ease of use and speed of data entry were demonstrated by Picis at the Annual National Symposium on Emergency Department Information Systems (EDIS), hosted by the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians (PaACEP). The symposium included an ED physician and nursing charting challenge where EDIS vendors were tasked with charting the same, complex patient scenario from triage to disposition using live software in front of an audience with officials timing each vendor. Picis finished a significant ten minutes faster than any of its competitors, which included MedHost, McKesson and Cerner.


2001 Healthcare Informatics "Healthcare Innovations in Technology Systems" (HITS) Partnership Awards

In recognition of the CareSuite anesthesia information system, Picis and Saint Luke’s Health System were selected as runner-up award winners for the HITS partnership award. The award honors partnerships of healthcare organizations and technology vendors for the creative use of new and emerging technology to improve the quality of patient care.
