Todd C. Cozzens
CEO, Accountable Care Solutions – Optum
Todd Cozzens co-founded Picis, the leading high acuity information system company and has more than 25 years of experience in the healthcare technology and information systems industry. It was Cozzens’ original strategic vision of information systems for the high-acuity care areas of hospitals that drove the company to a 50% annual growth rate over a ten year span and to over 2100 hospital clients. He was named Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young in 2005.
Prior to Picis, Cozzens served as the president of a division of Marquette Medical Systems (now GE Healthcare) and held several other senior management positions, including vice president of sales, from 1983 to 1995. Cozzens is a graduate of Marquette University and the Harvard Business School Executive Program for Management Development. He was a four-time member of the U.S. Olympic Sailing Team from 1980 to 1992.
In August of 2010, Picis was acquired by Optum, part of United Health Group. Cozzens now leads Optum’s accountable care solutions group focused on helping healthcare providers to design, build and operate accountable care organizations and sustainable health communities utilizing Optum’s leading analytics, population management and care coordination solutions.
Mark D. Crockett, MD, FACEP
President, Emergency Care Division
Mark Crockett, co-developer of the company’s emergency department information system, currently oversees the emergency care division and helps drive the direction of the company’s ED product development, sales and growth. An attending physician at Morris Hospital in Morris, Illinois, he maintains a solid understanding of the day-to-day workings of an emergency department and the need for automating the documentation process of this intense environment. Crockett graduated from Wheaton College and has a medical degree from the University of Illinois. Crockett has extensive knowledge in the fields of emergency medicine, medical informatics and systems architecture. He is a published author and a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
David Brown
Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer
David Brown, who joined Picis in 2006, has more than 28 years of experience in technology management and application development. Brown is responsible for the technology direction and development of all Picis product lines, and also serves as Chief Information Officer. Prior to Picis, Brown was Senior Vice President of product development and technology services at Harte-Hanks, directing product development strategies and overseeing IT and application services for the database marketing business. He also worked for IBM Software Group where he led strategic initiatives including business analytics and Web-based business systems. Brown received his Bachelor’s degree in administration from Northeastern University and an MBA from Babson College.
Scott Iverson
Senior Vice President of Professional Services
Scott Iverson, who joined Picis in 2007, is responsible for the company’s North American professional service organization as well as learning services and business transformation services. Iverson has more than two decades of experience, with expertise in all operational aspects of professional services. Most recently, Iverson served as Senior Vice President of Professional Services at Harte-Hanks, a direct marketing company. Earlier in his career, Iverson built the east professional services team at Epiphany where he was responsible for all delivery engagements of the company’s operational and analytic CRM applications. He began his career with Andersen Consulting. Iverson has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Boston College.
Mike Mitsock
Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and Chief Marketing Officer
Mike Mitsock, who joined Picis in 2006, is responsible for all global marketing functions, with particular focus on global product management, product marketing and marketing communications. Mitsock has more than 25 years’ experience in the technology sector. He was most recently Chief Marketing Officer for Tele Atlas, a supplier of digital maps for navigation applications. Previously, he served as Vice President of Worldwide Marketing and Product Management at Lightbridge, a leading application provider in the wireless industry. He has also held executive marketing positions at Progress Software and SupplyWorks, Inc., where he helped drive product strategy, lead generation programs and company branding. Mitsock holds engineering degrees from MIT and Northeastern University, and an MBA in Marketing and Strategic Management from Boston University.
David Stowell
Senior Vice President of Client Operations
As Senior Vice President of Client Operations, Stowell is responsible for all services provided to Picis North American clients, including support, product delivery, and consulting as well as Picis’ documentation. Since joining Picis in 1996, Stowell has overseen many areas of the company, including customer and technical support, implementation, contract programming and enterprise solutions. Stowell left Picis in 2006 to join Summit Healthcare as Chief Operating Officer. He rejoined Picis a year later as Vice President of Business Process Transformation where he most recently worked on business process improvements across the company. Stowell is a graduate of Westfield State College with a Bachelor’s degree in Business with a concentration in Finance.
