Marcus Perez returns to Harris Computer as Executive Vice President of Picis Clinical Solutions

Wakefield, MA, March 29, 2016 – Picis Clinical Solutions is pleased to announce the appointment of Marcus Perez as the new Executive Vice President. With an extensive amount of experience as a United States Military Academy schooled leader, military flight instructor, unit commander, dedicated administrator and educator, and successful revenue driver he will bring a wealth of knowledge to the Picis team.

“We’re excited that Marcus Perez has returned to Harris as the key leader for Picis Clinical Solutions. He brings a tremendous amount of growth and development experience to the team. We are confident Marcus will continue to drive success across the Picis team as a leader in the global healthcare marketplace,” commented Steve Hammond, Senior Executive Vice President Healthcare, Harris Computer.

Marcus comes to Picis from Workday, where he was VP of Sales, Government Practice for 14 months. As the VP of Sales, he was tasked with rebuilding the Government Practice—responsible for all facets of the Government Practice at Workday, including oversight of a 22-person sales team. In his time at Workday, his team more than doubled the pipeline value from $17 million to over $34 million, received statewide awards for the states of Colorado and Oregon, as well as the several major municipalities across the US, and more than doubled bookings from 2015 to 2016.

Before joining Workday Marcus was the Executive Vice President of Sales at Harris for all of the Public Sector and Schools Group businesses in North America. In that role, he oversaw sales results for 11 business units that provided software solutions to all sections of city, county and state governments. In his tenure in the role, sales results grew by 96% from $17 million in 2013 to $35 million in 2014 with a path to $50 million by the end of 2015.

Prior to Harris, Marcus was the EVP of Sales at LPS for their Government Practice which was acquired by Harris in 2012.  At that point, he joined Harris as the EVP of Aptitude Solutions, a business that developed solutions for County Clerks and Recorders. Marcus ran that business for 9 months post-acquisition prior to taking the role as EVP of Sales. His overall tenure with Harris before his initial departure was 4 years.

“I am thrilled to be back at Harris and to be given this opportunity to lead Picis back to prominence in the market,” says Marcus. “As I settle in to the role, it’s clear that we have tremendously talented people, products proven to help our customers in their mission of positive patient outcomes, and the foundation to grow into future technology solutions the market is clamoring for. Harris’ ‘acquire and hold’ philosophy means that Picis will continue to grow and I am exceptionally energized to be part of helping us be an enduring business that thrives for decades to come.”

Along with his vast sales and leadership accomplishments in the technology world, Marcus was also a Men’s Assistant Basketball Coach at the University of Missouri for 5 years. From the military to sports to sales he says it best, “I am, at my core, a coach!”
